Owner Brandon Gonzales' (called Gonzo by those that love him most) journey to barbecue is rooted in family. Growing up with a dad, grandfather, and several uncles/cousins that were all firefighters, big family cookouts were commonplace. Lots of great stories were told (some might have even been true) and lessons learned. Gumbo, fish fries, crawfish boils, and LOTS and LOTS of barbecue were cooked throughout the year.
Brandon dabbled in cook-offs during his tenure at Texas A&M, but it was always more about having fun with those around him. Several years after moving to Frisco to begin his career coaching Football and teaching, he inherited his late Paw Paw's backyard smoker. Backyard cookouts with family and friends slowly started to grow. Before long he was having pop up events in his driveway and at businesses owned by friends. Small catering jobs started finding their way to him. Having these gatherings where everyone is treated like family brought back memories of all those times growing up.
Keeping that back yard feel - look for the menu to rotate. It's kind of a "what sounds good this weekend" thing.
